I have been the School Social Worker at Monarch for the past 11 years, and I come from a long lineage of public educators. My own journey has yielded a BA in Sociology from Ithaca College, and a MSW from the University of Denver. Additional certifications that I hold in Colorado include a CDE Special Services Educator License, as well as being a board certified Licensed Clinical Social Worker. At Monarch, my role is working primarily under the umbrella of services offered through Special Education, but I am also here to meet the social and emotional needs of the entire school community. Whether through a more universal approach such as coordinating MoVibe, our School Wide Positive Behavior Support Initiative, or providing more individualized or small group interventions, my aim is to help our students develop healthy coping skills to enable them to live happy, healthy, and meaningful lives while also maximizing their potential.
