My name is Arica Avila, I am the mental health advocate who oversees the wellness center. The Wellness Center is a calm, soothing space for students to gather their thoughts and re-enter the academic environment with confidence. My role is to help students learn and practice self-care strategies that will benefit them in the classroom and beyond.
When students arrive at the center, they are asked to check-in. A typical stay will last 15 minutes. This gives a student time to decompress and utilize tools and/or strategies available in the center. The room features lower lighting, calming music and visuals, cozy couches, meditation cushions, aromatherapy, stress balls, and tea donated from the Tea Spot in Boulder.
Everyone is welcome- stop by anytime to say hello.
